Jennifer Hudson has accepted an invitation by Barack Obama to belt the National Anthem at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday, before the Presidential candidate gives his acceptance speech at Denver's Invesco Field.
"His reps called and said we'd love for you to sing the anthem on Thursday," Hudson's publicist tells People.com. "She's thrilled and excited. It's a tremendous honor."
The Oscar winner, whose self-titled album is due Sept. 30, has previously expressed a desire to help the Obama campaign. "I'm so proud and excited for him," Hudson, 26, told E! Online in June. "I haven't gotten a call from them yet, but he does have my support."
