NEW ALBUM: MANDISA "FREEDOM"



Do you remember Mandisa? If you dont, you surely have missed out on a treat. She was an American Idol contestant with Taylor Hicks. Since then Mandisa has really made her mark. Mandisa is a gospel singer. She has been nominated for both a Grammy and Dove Award. Mandisa has released four albums including her newest release "Freedom" that was released on March 24, 2009. Her first single off the album is entitled " My Deliverer". If you haven't noticed, Mandisa has lost some weight, but she is still a Thick Misses. QUEEN LATIFAH SIGNED TO A NEW MOVIE



Queen Latifah has signed on to lead Fox Searchlight's romantic comedy Just Wright according to Variety. The story revolves around Latifah -- whose other romantic comedy credit is 2006's Last Holiday as a physical therapist who helps a basketball player recover from an injury and falls in love with him along the way. The project was in development at Disney for the past six years before being picked up by Searchlight. Filming is expected to begin in May.

MO'NIQUE RADIO SHOW CANCELLED


MoNique's syndicated radio show will end its run on Wednesday (March 18) after just eight months on the air.

Radio Online is reporting that the comedienne has chosen to shut down "The Mo'Nique Show" in order to "further her career in television, film and comedy." However, the Web site RadioSyndication Talk says the show was cancelled by distributor Syndication One.

"I would like to thank my fabulous board of directors for their daily inspiration and feedback and Radio One for the opportunity to further my entertainment brand through radio," Mo'Nique said in a statement.

JORDIN SPARKS JOINS UP WITH THE JONAS BROTHERS FOR THEIR WORLD TOUR



American Idol’s Jordin Sparks will team up with the Jonas Brothers throughout their upcoming world tour. The Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 kicks off on June 20th at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas, and continues throughout the summer with a final concert on August 30th at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario. The tour features numerous shows in the U.S. and Canada, as well as select shows in South America and Europe.

Ticket presales begin on March 16th for Team Jonas fan club members and March 18th for Citi cardholders. Public onsales open on March 20th.

Forever 21 will launch their first Plus size line on May 1st called Faith 21. Faith 21 will offer tops, jeans, tanks, leggings and skirts in a junior plus size as well as XL, 1X and 2X. The design aesthetic follows Forever 21’s trendy take on everything from runway knockoffs to jersey basics.

The average woman in America is a size 14. We can rarely find cute clothes that come in plus sizes. Most designers do go beyond a size 10. I really enjoy seeing Monif C fashions on the runway. It makes me feel proud to be a THICKMISSES. She is not afraid to make a short dress to show off our big legs, arms or breast. In her designs, you can tell that these are the things she is wanting to show off. The only thing I have a problem with is that her clothes are not affordable for the average ThickMisses. Some of her designs can range up to $400.00 range. The lowest I have seen her design is $99 and that is when it is on clearance and you better hope they have your size.
